About the Director

Dr. William Maisel, the founder and Director of MDSI, is a Board Certified cardiologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Maisel, a nationally recognized expert on medical device safety, has served as an FDA consultant for more than five years and is former Chair of the FDA’s Heart Device and Post Market Advisory Panels.  Dr. Maisel has testified before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform regarding medical device safety issues and serves on the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Medical Coverage Advisory Committee.
